5.4.4.14.1 语义定义（Semantic definition）
环境影响指标与给定的“功能单位”（ISO 14040 概念）相关。功能单位的一个例子是“带 PVC 框架的双层玻璃窗”，考虑的单位是“由该产品填充的一个平方米的开口元素”。
指标值对于整个生命周期或仅特定阶段是有效的（参见 LifeCyclePhase 属性）。所有指标的值均根据预期的使用寿命按年表示。前五个属性捕获功能单元的特征。以下属性与环境指标相关。 这五个指标已达成国际共识。最后一个尚未在国际层面完全正式达成一致。
